You must have a wonderful workplace Jen, to allow you to bring your bubby in for feeds etc. Wish all employers were like that!

Yeah my boss is great. I was going to take an hour off every day to go home and feed him but my boss asked how noisy he was and when I said he was fairly quiet so far (which he is, very) he said why don't you just bring him in instead. I have had to do this before when I had some orphaned baby rosellas and baby ringnecks so he is really great to let me do it. However as I work with a bunch of BOBBA-stirring guys I have to put up with lots of comments such as.."Gee he's growing fast, how long until he's big enough to eat." That was my boss who said that! But they all come in and have a little stickybeak at least once a day and chat to him so its all bluff. He came with me to pick up my daughter from pre-school today and the kids just think he's wicked. One girl had a full on tantrum when her mother said no she couldn't have a bird like that Its funny how many people have no idea about birds. I've had lots of comments like "oh I saw a flock of them on the side of the road today" and "Is that a 28 parrot?" and "I hit one of them in my car last week" So I think everyone thinks he's a 28

People are usually really good and really interested with baby animals

Looking good Jen, and by the way that work station is not messy! I have seen far worse at work, trust me. Glad you have a relaxed employer, I mean he is not taking up much space and you dont spend hours feeding anyway!

wow! he is big! What rearing mix are you using? It just goes to show how good a bird can be when you raise it will! He is beautiful! I am using Roudybush at the moment. "The breeder" started him on Neocare which she said all her babies are thriving on but when he was about 4 weeks old he got a touch of crop slow-down and she was very worried for a night or two so tried him on Roudybush which she used to use on her Ekkies and he hasn't looked back since. (She still uses Neocare for other species and is quite happy with it for them though I believe.) I already had a box of neocare in the cupboard but will use this for my daughters new weero when we get it this week I think. I have noticed the last couple of days he is not gaining weight quite so rapidly so I think growth will be a little more gradual and then expect to see him lose a little weight before he starts to fly as all birds do. Yeah, Roudy bush is great! Sloggy, but good. He would be nearing his max weight, and like you said, probably lose weight before flying in the next few weeks (if that!)

Monty has grown heaps. Here is a picture of him looking really fat because he's just been fed and is too lazy to stand up He is soooo cuddly and just loves sitting with his head pressed up under my chin.
