Maybe she thinks she is a chook! I think she will sit on them soon, usually they have about 6 to 8, she may be laying 2 clutches...

My Japanese quails will not sit on eggs. It is fairly common for these type apparently although i know some people have had success with theirs on occasion. We have 4 hens and 2 males and only one hen even considered sitting last year. I gave up this year and bought an incubator. It will hold 60 quail eggs but i don't think we will try to hatch that many!!! We threw out over 200 eggs at least last year. I have been waiting and waiting for them to start laying again and we finally got one egg today so in about 4 days we will start them off in the incubator and see what happens.
