My brown female laid an egg yesterday, but it was cold and in the middle of the cage so I gather it was no good I took it out to show the kids after preschool, they asked me to cook it up for them! As gross as it might sound, I figured quial egg is a delicacy and it wasnt fertile so I did, It was just like a mini chicken egg!!! The kids loved it! LOL!! But I tell you what! You would need a WHOLE heap for bacon and eggs!!!!! LOL

They look good, I think those feathers should come back with time, were they in a smaller area before you got them? The ones at the petshops are always in little cages and plucked bare because they get bored and eat each others feathers. Either that or the ale has too much testosterone!!
