There ended up being 7 hatched but sadly 3 died. I think there were too many in the one nest and the smaller ones got squashed, I have put the last egg in with my kakariki hen as she is on eggs again that are due to hatch in a week and hopefully when her eggs hatch the budgie baby (if it hatches) will be a bit bigger by then and won't get squashed. The four babies are doing really well which is great ;D

What a shame that some died. Good luck with the others. I hope the last egg hatches ok.

Ok newest update, sadly only 2 of the 4 have survived, I gues thats the bad thing in bird breeding, only the strong survive. But the two that are fine are just about ready to leave the nest!! One is a realy pretty pastel blue and the other a pastel grey, they were sold but i might just keep them and put in some more budgies and hope they all pair off. I hae had 3 of my budgies escape the aviary in the past week, two we caught again but the dad of the babies hasnt come back. We don't know where theya re getting out!! So frustrating! They will all be moved into another aviary soon anyway so hopefully that will stop them!
