I agree with Peter, the one at the front in the bottom pic is a male and the one at rear is a female. The male is about 7/8th 28 and the female is about 1/2 to 3/4 28. The babies should in theory have much less yellow in the belly. Almost all the wild ones here in Perth have some port lincon mix in the bloodlines, it is very hard to find pure 28 parrots now.

they poth have port lincon in them at even the one in front has a couple of yellow feathers in its chest

ive read that they do not - but then i've read that they can....
Now if i could find a PURE port lincoln breeder then we may know. its very hard you know finding anyone.. lol

Ok now I found this article on broad tail parrots and this is what I found. I must say golly mine look nearly exactly the same as the 28's. these are the 'article' pics 28's port lincolns

Those are some good pictures, The hen 28 there is lighter lime colour under the belly but notice the lack of yellow. I think that when you breed your 2 together you will end up with birds that are very close to the pure 28 looking bird.

My Hen has both red and Yellow above its beek !!!! Mainly red with some yellow around it

Mark he's going to live with Bel, sorry. He has no yellow at all on his belly. The pic doesn't show it well but he has a black head so is a cock. Can't get any closer with the phone cam as he's a bit nervous of people being a wild one.
