Look what I bought on Sunday at the Fresno Bird Mart. These belonged to my good mate who is scaling back on his breeding pairs. I'm adding 2 more White Bellied Caique Pairs too when he decides to sell them too. He let me have this pair of Black Cap Lories for $900 Oh and I came so close to purchasing a gorgeous Red Front Macaw. Another friend was selling his tame 5 year old Male. OMG the sweetest bird. But my stupid other half bit.ched and moaned and considering I have to live with the bit.ching and moaning I thought it be best I just let someone else buy him. Enjoy

oh wow! they look absolutley gorgeous! should have got the macaw neways!!!! lol You're Damm right I should have bought the Red Front Silkiechick. I'm on the ourbirds yahoo group which has alot of breeders from Central california and the rest of the USA ( But new members are welcome from elsewhere in the world ) and this one woman who I'm not all that fond of due to her love of the almighty $$$$ over her apparent love of birds gets on the list and says her son or someone in her family bought it. I was fuming..... it sucks because she purchases birds because she is oh so in love with them and is selling them 2 months later for profit.

These guys are the Black Capped Lories. They're about the size body wise of an Indian Ringneck. perhaps just a bit smaller. Obviously they have a smaller tail too. I think the Chattering Lori's are quite big from what I remember. I had one jumping all me at Six Flags Marine World in Vallejo 2 years back.

I'm kinda hoping this will be the start of a small Lory Addiction lol. Just what I need though. more breeding pairs..... not.
Would love a pair of Chatterings, Mollucan Red or Rainbows though.

Lucky bugger! They are stunning birds! Hope they breed for you! You should have traded your other half for the macaw! ROFL..... that would definately give me permanant residence on their sh*t list. God knows I spend most of my time on there anyway ROFL. The birds are a breeding pair. They came from one of good mates here. they give 2 - 3 clutches a year & 2 - 3 babies a clutch. If they lay 2 eggs the first clutch the usually triple clutch. If they lay 3 eggs the first clutch they tend to double clutch. The male is in condition right now. He plucks his lower chest & legs when horny. out of the season his fully feathered.
