No... there's nothing yet... Just curious if Ekkie's lay daily or every second day? Our Smaller parrots like the Suns tend to lay daily as do our Green Cheeks. The Hahns & Caiques are every other day.

I am pretty sure they lay every other day. Most large parrots do because they only have one ovary. Good luck!

Most birds in general have only one ovary, it was a compensation in the development of flight, less organs = less weight. They also developed hollowed bones to lessen their weight too.

Knew about the bones but not the ovary. This place is a font of knowledge. ;D

Is that the case Matt with smaller parrots? When we got our female Hahns Macaw surgically sexed we had a look inside her through the microscope. ( something that totally grossed me out... I've got the weakest stomach. ) and the Vet said we're looking at clusters of ovaries. They looked like tiny bunchs of grapes. It was so gross.
Reminded me of the time I blacked out during a rat disection in Year 7

I am not 100% sure Justin, but I would imagine what tyou were looking at were clusters of ovum (or eggs). There is only ever one or two ovaries in normal animals without defects. I am pretty sure all birds only have one ovary, some are able to produce eggs daily however because they push them through faster and the eggs are smaller and softer shelled.

I'm sure that's the case with Jade. She's a horny witch.
