Well to get back to the first Question!!!
Palm Cockatoos require Federal Government Approval (DEH) for you to keep and breed them due to how Endangered they are as numbers are Very LOW
At last count (that I know of) there are known to be 7 Hyacinth Macaws in Australia 5 Cocks $60.000 Each 2 Hens $120.000 Each
But here is the tricky Part!!!! There were only 2 birds legally imported in to Australia and when they were both sexed they were both cocks!!!!
To this date as far as I know only 1 baby has been bred from these Birds (in WA)
There are (that I know of) 2 cocks and 1 Pair in WA 2 cocks and 1 Pair in NSW 1 cock in Queensland in a bed and breakfast!
The Breeders of these birds are very secretive in wot and how they breed them !!!!!
I hope this answers your Question

Sounds worrying, it would appear that the genetics are dwindling and the species is in dire need of help in Australian aviculture! Sorry Justin, cant help on the Adelaide zoo, I have no idea.
