ok, I have just handraised 3 weeros successfully and feel pretty chuffed!! (Not sure if this is an accomplishment or not, but being alive and not dead has to count for something), now I feel like I can handraise the world!! (in other words I would like to sink my teeth into trying a different breed of bird) I need a breed which are hardy, wantable(everyone wants one), as easy as a weero to raise and would be a great mate. Any suggestions? Or am I getting ahead of myself?

Congrats! Perhaps a rainbow lorikeet or an indian ring neck. Once you get the hang of hand raising it is aplicable to all birds. If you ever get any trouble there are alot of people here that can help. I have raised several birds myself! It is great fun and you have done well to successfully take the plunge!

How about princess parrots or alexs, they're both pretty popular and easy from what I've heard.

What everyone has suggested are really good birds to raise when you are starting out. Well done for raising 3 weeros sucessfully. As long as you dont attempt anythign like eclectus, etc for awhile you should be fine.

Thanks for the advice, do you know of anyone with princess or alex babies available in Perth? It is relieving to know that you are all just a key tap away.

I would be keeping an eye out in the Quokka for a baby alex. I feel they make better pets than ringnecks. Ringnecks are ok but a bit harder to tame than Alexs IMHO I have heard Kakarikis make good little pets but have never raised any myself. I have also heard that rainbow lorrikeets are easy but a little messy.
