Check this out, don't you wish we lived a bit closer? I'm sure between all us bird addicts we could re-house at least a couple of hundred of these if not more!!!! Well Holly would take at least a hundred for starters I recon From another site.... The Atlantic County SPCA has taken in 800 birds surrendered by a breeder. They are in desperate need of organizations who are able to foster groups of 25 or more of the parakeets, lovebirds and cockatiels. The shelter is also in need of bird cages and food. Would be good lol.
I'd be a little hesitant though. Only reason being is that most birds that are given to Rescues by the SPCA are usually kept in pretty cramped/bad conditions. Bordatella Avium aka Lockjaw is very common - especially amongst Cockatiels that are kept in over crowed conditions.
