Hi everybody,
well it's been all go go go at my place for the last couple of weeks.
I did a deal with a breeder through the local paper Quokka (Perth) for a package of birds and I am still amazed at the beautiful birds I got for such a great price.
Here they are:
First up is my new young Peachface Lovebird, "Peaches". I don't know the gender yet. Peaches is a very beautiful Olive mutation, as you can see from it's back.
Next is my new Java finch "Jack". He is my first finch, and I just love him, as he is a pretty gentle little fella with a sweet song.
Then, the ones I really wanted, my Bourke Parakeets. The male, "Aragorn" is a normal colour, while the hen, "Arwen", is a Rosa Bourke. These are so beautiful, and very gentle little birds.
I was also extremely fortunate as I had not been aware he had a pair of cockatiels as well, but he offered them to me cheaply and I could not resist when I saw them. The male is a cinnamon, and the hen is a whiteface pearl, absolutely beautiful. I hope these breed for me. He is called "Sunshine" and she is called, "Rain".
Last but not least in this deal, I got a lovely grey budgie, that I called "Lady Grey".
Oh, and yesterday I got a lovely male budgie as a mate for "Lady".
His name will be "Lord". He is lovely and I was told he is a pied spangle. I just love his bi-coloured cheek patches.
I knew the breeder and conditions so after giving them time, he has been introduced to Lady and they are getting on well.
So, there is all my lovely new birds, keeping me pretty busy now. But I just love them all. Maybe I will hear lots of pitter patters of baby feet when the breeding season takes off.
Cheers everyone, Shauna
