I got a few new birdies the other day from a guy who has cancer and can no longer look after them. There are 4 Eastern Rosellas and 7 Red Rumps. I really didn't want any more birds as I didn't have any spare aviaries, but after seeing them in a small cramped cage, I decided I would make room. After a bit of organising, I managed to free up an aviary. The guy had all the birds in one hexagonal shaped, aprox 7 foot high and 1.5 meters wide, 1.5 meters deep aviary. The poor things didn't have any personal space. I have them all in the same aviary which I know is not ideal, but I am hoping I can get some moeny together very soon and have another aviary built to seperate them. The aviary I have them in now is 7 foot high, 7 foot deep and 4 foot wide so they have a bit more room to spread their wings. 3 of the 4 rosellas have no tails but new feathers are coming through Here they are a bit on the tatty side though... Rosella the stumpies... Daddy red rump and his family I am hoping with a few good feeds of fruit/veg, worming and a bit of vitamins added, they will go back to their former glory

In all honesty I'm suprised they all didn't kill each other! Way to put two of the most aggressive birds in captivity together! Some people just don't know! I'd seperate those male red rumps soon, you'll find Dad won't tolerate them for long! Good luck with them all

Yeah I know. I am in the process of organising another aviary for the rumps. I read the dad doesn't like the kids hanging around for long lol

They look good, the rosellas look like golden mantles? I have an eastern hen here and she has nowhere near that amount of yellow on the back! By the way if anyone in WA has an eastern rosella cock I have a hen that needs a mate! I got one for a steal and it somehow got eaten outside the aviary magically.....
