Sorry to hear that Sam, night fright sucks, you can place branches at the end of the flights and that will help stop them from colliding so hard. Shadecloth is just as good. The clucking is a good sign, means the male is either courting or showing off, or maybe the hen was being fed, hens make a lot of noise when feeding from the cocks. Good luck

Thats such a shame. You may have had an owl or cat stress them at night, and as they cant see well at night they'll fly into the wire and often break necks.
To get them ready to breed it is good not to over do it with all the good fruit and stuff at the moment. Give it to them every few days rather then every day. Just keep up the seed etc. Fat birds dont always breed well.
Then right at the begining of spring you start to give them the big boost of goodies daily (In the wild this is when all the plants flower etc and they naturally get the boost). This will encourage them to think it is a good time to breed and they will breed well. Keep a nice calcium supply up especially durin egg laying and chick rearing. I like to introduce the box at the begining of spring too. This will also excite them for breeding rather then them becoming used to it in their cage.

Trust me sam
We have all been there! I could tell you 100 stories of the most silly things killing birds etc that we had saved so much to get. All I can say is learn from any mistakes, and improve on them, and keep in there. Things will look up soon. I suggest getting a couple of pairs of budgie/weeros etc They may be simple, but they are easy to breed, and will always bring in money when you sell the babies! Thats how we saved for other pairs of birds. breed and Sell a heep of budgies and buy a good pair of birds!

But a poor pied bird can produce a realy good pied !!!!

I suggest you go see a vet ASAP as well! Even get an autopsy on the dead birds. You may be able to querry the person you got them from and re-coop your losses.
Are they dying at night time? Keep an eye out for a owl or cat
