No wonder you're hiding them, they're gorgeous.

well No one up here knows that Bandit is a satin longhair! A lot of people wanted to buy Cadbury and the moment people see one of my longhairs they want me to name my price for them all! I now know why a lot of people don't show their birds etc to people for that reason.... no matter how many times people ask they never listen when you say NO!
PS you're all the first to know about Princess and her brother Poppler, a sheltie. We didn't know if she would live (she was so small when born) and we saw their birth. She is Shanes baby, he's so in love with her!

Cadbury and Bandit are my two showies this year.. Bandit is coating out perfectly. The first Pedigree show is late March so hopefully they will both be perfect then!

We have our young stock show here on the 3rd of march! I am looking forward to it. I am entering everything we have bred from show lines that we are keeping for breeding, even if they are really showable or not. Just to see how they all go!

Nah... the two longhairs will be quite enough to keep me busy at the shows! I've been teaching Bandit and Cadbury to sit still, they are doing really really well with that. I'll wash and blow dry them on friday...lets hope they cope with that too! It'll be their first bath LOL I sold most of the others that were born to me. I kept a gold lilac argente and Blizzard, they will be for when I feel confident enough to show more than the two longhairs. I will definately take the camera too at their first show, I can't wait to see how they go.

Very strong allegations to level. I think you need to be a little more careful. There is a correct time and place to have your say but its at a club meeting, not on a forum. (IMHO)

You're right Cory, I must always remember that children are everywhere. I must also learn that I shouldn't let them get to me...no matter how hard it might sometimes be. I'd love to bring this subject up in the right places like you suggest, but the children outnumber the few and in most cases only serve to alienate the few even more. I edited my post to save face, and to hopefully not turn those people who want to join clubs away from them. There are truely some amazing people out there, full of wisdom and knowledge that should be passed on to others willing to learn. But we must also be mindful of those who are new and play fair when they are involved, because it's them who'll carry the clubs on when we leave. And we all want to set the best example for them... instead of making our time in the club more "beneficial" for us while we are there.

When you refer to "Children" i presume you are talking about committee members and judges! You need to be careful when talking about judges like that. It doesn't go down well and it looks like sour grapes on your part!
Showing long hairs that are tri coloured is very hard and i found that it was a little disappointing, due to the change in texture between the colours! Also choc isn't the best show colour, cute while young but the hair shaft gets very thin with age and will most likely break. So be prepared!
But most of all! Have fun and enjoy your animals regardless of how they or you do!

Interpret it the way you will. But know I'm not the only one who feels this way. I have read all you have said about coats in longhairs etc, I can't govern what colours are born yet. After all I'm only starting out, this is my first generation from good quality lines. I must be doing something right with them for many breeders to want them. It's not only cavy clubs that this happens in, it happens in all clubs. I'm so sorry I expressed my opinion on a PET forum
ps. Please, I don't want to delete but I will. Everyone is entitled to their opinion and I know you're defending the ANCC. I'm not attacking the ANCC, I've not really had anything to do with them. I'm talking about people I know and my local. I have also been talking with my emotions, this is not my day, my week, my month or my year. this thread is locked
