I have found out some secrets of the major breeders
They re use there box’s and don’t through them out each season like I have been told before they soaked them in BLEECH at the end of each season
You get a LARGE tub of bucked add 2 litres of Bleach to the water and soak them for 1 hour each. Then they remove them and leave them in the sun for a couple of hours until dry This KILLS all bacteria and all the germs on the timber and makes them look just as new All you have to do now is store them in a clean dry place un till next season and your all set
This proceedjour does not affect the birds in any way (BLEECH is ok to use with birds as long as you do not spray it on them directly)
It is also a good way to clean out your aviary’s and cages at a low cost as some cleaning agents for birds can cost a lot of money

Thanks for the tip mate! I have always used bleach to clean out water containers and handraising boxes etc but never the boxes, I will definately give it a go at the end of this season!
