Looks like you and my other half would get along well. He has to have all the fancy air-tools and compressor in the shed or he's just not happy. He's a car spraypainter by trade but I'm sure he's got just as many tools at home as he does at work. Mind you now I'm getting the hang of that air staple gun I'm starting not to complain as much. They can really come in handy! Next he's getting a new welder to build avairies with. I'd better go book myself into a welding course! Anyway the chook pen looking good. Make sure you post a pic of the finished job so we can steal all your ideas!

Thats not fair, if we had a neighbour like that then he wouldnt have an excuse to buy all those tools! He bought himself a super-dooper air nail gun the other day that is truly deadly but I suppose I shouldn't complain too much as he bought me an electric table-saw to make nest boxes and brooder boxes with. Between that and the industrial size drop-saw we stole off his dad I'm pretty set. However I could do with a new jigsaw... Oh Sh#t, I just realised it must be contagious. Now I'm starting to want more tools........help!!!!!!

I get lucky because I work for a tractor dealership and we get huge heavy duty boxes and pallets etc made from nice untreated pine. Sometimes we get lots of jarrah etc We've built some nice solid work benches out of the jarrah but I've been storing so much wood that now we can hardly get in the shed. I'll have to start using it to light the fire I think What a waste I think the next project will have to be a new nest box for the alexandrines because they are turning the bought ones into sawdust. destructive little sods they are

I buy most of my boxs from a local guy he puts aliminum plates around the holes so they last longer as the birds can not chew thriugh it it realy works Its just a flat plate with a hole cut out of the middle if it and it goes in the inside of the box's so the chewing is kept to a minnamum

Thats going to be great! Peter is the builder/carpenter here, I just feed the animals and clean them up, you know, the main work...lol. Though when I get the bug I will build nest boxes and stuff but I need to be in the mood! Dad has stockpiled about 20 large untreated pine crates in our back shed so thise will be the next round of nest boxes and guinea pig hutches. I agree with Eagle too Jen when he suggested metal liners for alexandrines, they are one of the most destructve birds and it would be a shame to find the bottom of the box chewed through when they have eggs or babies, I have seen it happen before. Even our 2 are chewing the hell out of thier 7 ply box and its a giant box too. Metal plating is the way to go!
