Well I had lots of fun with my new camera on the weekend snapping pictures of all our birds. Here is Monty and Charlotte having a shower but I took so many photos I really liked that I thought I'd make a bit of a collage with them...  Monty loved his shower as you can see...  Here's Monty showing off his colours...  This is me practicing trying to get pictures of the birds in flight...   This is a picture of our skyblue ringneck now he has coloured up nicely and of course Alex sitting next to him...  Finally Ellie.. Love this bird, she can be a little bit nippy but just loves to sit on you when you are in the avairy. When she lived at the birdpark the owner used to share his hot chocolate with her so maybe she is just trying to tell us something! Like "where's my cuppa?" She has taken to giving Rob a nip and then wolf-whistling and saying "Who's a pretty girl then?" which I recon is soo funny('specially cause I'm not the one getting nipped) ;D  |

Great Pics Jen....The Ekkies sure seem to enjoy their mistings don't they  Good Luck trying to get the birds in flight.... YOu did good with the albino Ringneck Takes a lot of patience and tries but it's worth it when you get that one good shot. |

Oh wow great pics Jen. Monty has magnificent colours. The flight shot is fantastic. Ellie sounds hilarious.

You guys are lucky!! Eddie hates water in any form!  I have started to shower him, his feathers where just awful & he was in desperate need of bathing. The shower is the only thing at the moment he tolerates enough to not try & escape. He just hates water :-/With a bit of luck he'll start to enjoy the shower soon. He does do a good job of preening afterwards. Shoulda seen the crap that came off him after his very first (forced) shower  he's was filthy! |

Kim I think we were lucky as ours both love the water, the first few time I got monty wet I just put him in the sink in a couple of inches of water and then trickled it over him with my hands and then let him out and he enjoyed preening himself all arvo after that.
The next time I took him in the shower with me and he adores that and basically turns himself upside down trying to get soaked to the skin.
Anyway when it was hot recently we sprayed them with a hand spray bottle with cold water and Monty was far from impressed the first time! He really didn't like it at all and tried to get away like Eddie does. But then after about the 3rd time he was hand-sprayed he all of a sudden got the idea and loves that too now hence the pictures. Maybe he saw how much Charlotte liked it because she loved getting squirted from day one.

Yeah, I'm hoping he see's how much Squash & Cricket love their bath & showers. He's watched them plenty of times, but still nothing.
He's very tolerant in the shower & in the trough with a shower head attached to it. He stands there & lets me wash under his wings etc. Looks unimpressed still but looks pretty happy after the bath. Maybe it makes him feel a bit better after so he'll come to like it more often.
Oh well, I now know I can bathe him without losing a finger or having him flap around in panic LOL

The pics are great!! Yeh Saff hates water too hey! Bas used to love bathing in his water bowl - but hated the hose. Saff just hates it all. My weero's love the water tho .. they will turn themselves practically inside out to get wet all over! ;D

Had a play with Photoshop today and thought this worked quite well. By making the background darker it has really brought out the full effect. Rob was talking about getting rid of the Albino ringneck but after seeing this picture I think he's gunna keep it afterall. ;D  |
