Hi Guys, Here are some pics of how we have our Senegals, Hahns & Blue & Gold Macaws set up. The Blue & Golds are in the back. They're in a 8ft long, 4ft high and 4ft wide. The Other cages are all 5ft long and 2.5ft wide and 3ft high. We have the back of cages where the nest box sits shaped like a reversed Letter "L". Does that make sense? directly underneath the nest box is the feed and water dishes. we placed them under the boxes as all these birds in the other cages enjoyed perching on the dishes, making soup with their water and turning the dishes over. They're not able to do it with this set up. We've also enclosed the nestbox so if the day came where they happened to chew through they can't get out and fly away. The sides of the nestboxes are able to open however we have them closed with hogrings at the moment. We're able to check the boxes just by poking a screw driver through the wire and lifting the lids. Keeps the disruption to a minimum. Especially for the Senegals who are rather shy. The hahns here a commotion and need to come out and see what's going on. Hahns are like the people that stop on a freeway just to look at a car crash. Ideally I would like larger flights but considering where right on the edge of town and are limited to the amount of space we have these cages are ok for now. Enjoy the photo's.

Jules,
It works so much better for us having the feed and water dishes that way. They stay so much cleaner. It's also good having the nest box entrance face away from the feeder access. That way The birds can't see us when they look out and it helps them to feel a little more secure in their environment. It works for the Hahns Macaws. Here's hoping it works for everyone else...
