The damage and cruelty these creatures inflict on our native animals and pets far outweighs any 'cruelty' done to the toads. What happens to them when they are used in science is no different to any of us going in for an operation, we get cut open and have all sorts done to us while in surgery the only difference is they get put to sleep for ever afterward, they wouldn't feel a thing.

I totally agree. The perks of these experiments far outway any cons. The sort of damage these creatures can do to the native flora and fauna of WA is devastating. I have no qualms what so ever in disposing of a cane toad if i ever see one (hopefully not!) - especially if i get a beer in return. i mean if i can catch 24 of em i got a carton ay? Friday night at my place lol

Well when i moved up to Queensland i knew about them but i did not know how bad they realy were until i moven in to our new place up here i have a nightly misson i do every night befor i go to bed i go out the back with the baceball bat and i practice my swing (All you can here is a loud bang when they hit the colour bond fence) i get an adverage of 4-10 a night from Big to small in the summer !!!!! and they dont survive trust me !!! lol
I have not seen one in quite a while i think that is because it is winter but the bat is all ready waiting for them
P.S A good natural way to kill them is with SALT they must keep moist to survive and the salt will dry them out and they die but it does not work all the time but its fun to watch

I use to stab them with a nail on a piece of wood but they use to wiggle free and LIVE!!! So now I use my nail rake and when I've collected them all I leave it in the sun, with the prongs stuck in the dirt so they can't leave! they are normally dead by morning but the sun kills them well. I know it's cruel but I've seen them eat things bigger than themselves

My grandfather tried killing one a few years ago with a shovelbut it screamed in agony & he never again raised a garden utensil against one.
Put them in a plastic bag in the freezer - does the job & is much more humane. Or else plastic bag in the wheelie bin.

Well one crossed the border without a passport here the other day! Was found in Kununurra opposite a caravan park! He was taken straight to the vets and put down!
