Anyone got any ideas on how to stop JR dogs to stop jumping on people who walk thru our front and back doors.
She gets so excited and we have to put her on a chain for 5 minutes to settle her down when we have visitors.
She calms down after a while, but it totally annoys the visitors when they do come. So I am open to ideas on how to stop her from jumping and going hypo

Does she do it if one of your family is out with her as well?? If so my suggestion would be to have someone (preferably an adult or older child) to have the dog on a leash with a choker chain, arrange for some 'visitors' to come around and when they walk in when she goes to jump, give her lead a sharp tug and a firm "NO". Get the visitor to walk past her (ignoring her the whole time) and make her sit and stay. Praise her after the person has passed. Try this a few times, even with a few diferent people that are willing to helpyou. When she starts to learn to sit and stay and not jump, get the vistor to bend down (while she is still sitting) to give her a pat and a good girl praise. Don't over praise her though as she will just get all hypo and excited again. Hope this helps
