My little Peachface baby Buddy is pacing non-stop. It annoys the crap out of my mum as she is home all day. She has tried bringing his cage inside but it doesn't stop him.
Would it have something to do with this being the first time he has been by himself?

Hmmm, don't really know, it could be because he is by himself and lovebirds do like companions, maybe he is bored?? Have you got some toys in with him or maybe a snuggle buddy toy could work??

I don't know much about them either however I do know that my two are almost glued at the hip they like to snuggle together so much. I would definately be thinking about getting it a friend, even if it is a little stuffed toy it can cuddle with. I also know that lovebirds like to sit in a nest box even when not breeding etc so I would consider a birdy-tent or a nest box depending on the size of its cage or something like that that the bird can climb into as it will make it feel secure. They apparently do not like to be out in the open with no-where to hide. Thats what I have heard anyway and ours certainly support this idea. Hope that helps a little Jen

Well he had one of those plush things to snuggle against and heaps of toys. It didn't stop him so I moved him in with Sally as a companion.

Lovebirds are always dependant on company, in the wild they live in huge flocks and they nest communally. Keeping one on his own can be hard because they either want you as company all day or another bird. Hope he goes better with the companion.
