Well Mojo the white face and Shimmy the lutino (we think) have mated.....would appreciate others expertise here..but I think they may throw albinos if going on Terry's book is correct... Below is a pic of Shimmy and Mojo...Mojo is obviously the white face....and Shimmy is inbetween Angel - cinnamon whiteface and Peaches....the yellowy one...

I am not sure, to be honest the female looks like a platinum to me, especially with the black eyes! I hope the babies come out every colour of the rainbow!! Speaking of albinos, my red rumps double clutched and after a boring first clutch of one blue and two greens, they decided to produce an albino baby!! Well I am about 80% sure it is albino. The other two are probably green but who cares!!!LOL.

Hi hope you don't mind if I answer this. If your female is not split to whiteface and to me she looks like a platinum hen too with the silver on her wings and she will have the dark eyes but they are in fact a plum color if you shine a torch at night time. If she is a lutino then she will have red eyes and lutinos even pieds do not have dark on their wings. They will be either white wings or they can have some yellow wings indicating split for pied. The offspring from this pair if she is a platinum hen will be 50% males normal split to platinum and whiteface and 50% normal grey females split for whiteface It also depends on what splits your male is carrying too as to whether you will get any other different babies, like cinnamon, pear, lutino etc which is sex linked and if the both carry the pied gene then you could get some pied babies from this pair. To get albino (whiteface lutinos) babies the best outcome is from a whiteface male split for lutino and a female lutino split for whiteface Cheers Anna

Thanks for the input Anna! That is very useful and I am hoping that her birds are both carrying splits so the offspring are a little more interesting!

Thanks Anna....
I appreciate your clarification...thats why I put albinos maybe...cause I really havent had Shimmys mutation identified...doesnt bother me what they throw cause I just get excitied with baby birds full stop!!!
As for their splits??....who knows...I didnt breed these birds.....
Nonetheless it will be interesting to see what their kids look like aye..
Think Shimmy is going to go down soon..Both her and Mojo spending a lot of time in the nest box..

Anna is correct The best part bout not knowing what they are split to is that you wont know what the hell well come out! So much fun! Good luck and fingures crossed. Also, i am pretty sure white face platinums are an almost white (or albino looking) bird anyway. some slight colouring and black eyes though! Most attractive

Well I did bring up lutianos..and Shimmy is definately not one of them.....so that is now a known fact.....as Anna pointed out due to Shimmy's dark bits on the edge of the wings....eyes defiantely not red....so yup..should be interesting what they throw...she also has markings..very faint on her back not as detailed as a pearl but like scalloping....
ME EXCITIED...lets just hope eggs are fertile...

I hope that you get lots of nice colored babies, I find it very exciting when you have a new pair and wonder what babies you will get. Peter like most birds it all depends on how much platinum the bird is carrying . Some whiteface platinums only have a very small amount whereas others will be a solid platinum all over with a white head. This is a pic of my little girl (not the best LOL) I hand reared this year and I thought she was a English w/face cinnamon but as she has got older she is a very silvery color so having other platinums and comparing the color I am now more convinced that she is indeed a w/face platinum split for pied and she has a lot of platinum all over her. She was a big surprise as she is from a new pair I bought and bred last year. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D Cheers Anna
