So today we added to our flock yet again. We purchased a pair of Green Cheek COnures - Cinnamon Hen & Split to Cinnamon Male, plus a pair Blue & Gold Macaws. Now I seriously need to sell some babies to recoup some of this money.....

What ..."No more birds !!!!!" Me thinks YOU are fighting a losing battle Justin and denial is the first sign of an addiction isn't it. I wager you'll have more birds within a month! Jen

LOL actually Jen, Summer is really close here and although June is not too bad, July & August are unbearable when it comes to hot weather. The Temp hovers between 100 & 110F for 2 and 1/2 months.
Unless we sell off the bulk of our smaller birds then we're not getting any more. Although we do have our eyes on a nice pair of Red Sided Ekkies.

I've got to stop. Here within Selma City Limits you're only allowed to keep or breed just under 100 birds. We're at 135 I think. Which is down from the 215 that we had this time last year.
if we lived 1/4 of a mile West of here we'd be allowed as many as we want.

For a Cock Hyacinth here in Aus it is $60,000 - $80,000 And for a Hen its $120,000 That's just incredible. I really don't know why the Australian Government can't work out some kind of import deal from quality Breeders around the world. Of course implementvery strict guidelines. It would help out those in Australia wanting to breed the Hyacinths and although it would take a few years it would eventually lower the price of these incredible birds. The lady who I bought my 1st African Grey - Bandit off is raising a Hyacinth right now. He's 5 1/2 months old and still has another 10 - 12 weeks before he's weaned. This bird is HUGE. He's weights at 1312 grams and he's head is just massive. Bigger than a Greenwing
