A couple of years ago we completely got out of Budgies and said we would never have them again. I certainly said I would never bother handraising any more of them. On Thursday we were talking to a close friend who had decided he would have to sell all his budgies as they were too much work at the moment as he is quite ill. He has hundreds of birds but finds the budgies to be the most time consuming. He said he would take them to perth on Friday but unfortunately any babies would have to be disposed of as they couldnt be sold and he has such a big flock of budgies he would never be able to work out which were the parents. Well I couldnt let that happen so after he caught the 90 adults I went through the boxes and collected the babies and now have 18 budgies to handraise of various ages. Luckily a few will be eating on there own before long which leaves me with about a dozen or so to raise. There were some absolutely stunning adults taken to Perth and will probably end up at Birdworld so if anyone is after some nice colours from bright aqua coloured pieds, to lemon yellow to rainbow coloured you might want to pop down there ASAP.
Jen
PS Message to mods Couldnt decide if this should go in Budgies or handraising so just stuck it here. sorry about that

Well two have been offered homes so far! One is a little pale yellow one with black eyes. My friend fell in love with it the minute she saw it and loved its colour which I said was the colour of butter. She said Exactly, thats why i am going to call it "Marge, short for margarine!" Well I've heard some funny names before but I recon a budgie called Marge is pretty cute. Another has been offered a home with a family of two teenage girls. Maybe i should talk them into taking two, one each. Theres a plan, now only 15 to go. So far the ones that have coloured up are quite a variety. white with black eyes yellow with black eyes an albino a lutino some lavender coloured ones a lavender with cinnamon markings some aqua with yellow heads and some blue with yellow heads luckily my friend doesnt breed green ones as they would be even harder to get rid of.
