Picture It. Selma California, 2.00am.. Summer 2006.
I get up at 2am to feed some little ones I had at the time. I'm in the kitchen mixing formula when Ryley starts screaming. it's not cool to have him screaming at that ungodly hour. I took some trash to the trash can and came inside.
So I whisked up the babies and took them back to the room along with the formula I just made. Turned the lights in the kitchen off and went back to bed.
10 minutes later there is a huge ruckus at the back fence. My dogs are going ballistic. So I get out and go stand on the rocks to the waterfall and look over the fence. There is 63 acres of land behind thehouse here. So I look up onto Dinuba Ave and there are 6 police cars there with thier spolights shining through the field. Cops are walking the street out front and walking along the fences.
When they got back by my back fence I asked what they were doing. He sid they had had a call saying that there was a woman screaming.
Wasn't till I was back inside when it hit. I had the 2 windows open in the kitchen. and you can hear someone drop a needle from 2 miles back around here at night. I can't proove it, but I'm 99% certain that it was Ryley that someone heard
I dare not tell the cops though. Last thing is them banging on the door everytime someone reports a scream/.

Do your cockatoo's scream at night?
Got a breeder friend in Chowchilla about 35 miles north of here who lives out in the middle of an orchard. She as a pair of Medium Sulphers & Umbrellas. On nights of the full moon they're out screaming.
Thankfully all our birds shut up at night. We use to run heat lamps in the winter but the males would be out courting hens are 4am.
