These are baby ringneck and golden pheasants we have hatched from the incubator! And there is plenty more where they came from

Peter, Have you had any luck hatching and raising ringnecks this way? It seems daunting to try to feed them from such a young age. I have been reading a bit about it lately and have nearly put myself off the idea.
Also is the incubator effective and how much did you pay for it if you don't mind me asking. All the ones I have seen are $1000 plus and way out of my price range. Jen

Hi bubbles, Feed them egg and biscuit, boiled eggs and canary seed if you can manage it. I find the canary seed or even finch mix has alot of smaller seeds that they can swallow easier. I personally dont think the chicken mince would be great for them however if they eat it and are growing it should be fine. Naturally, quail dont eat meat, but they do eat insects. Please let us know how they go! Matt

Baby parrots take too much time to raise when they are from the egg. The incubator cost us about $600 back in 1999, but it quickly paid itself off when we started selling off the chicks. Hope this helps. Matt
