Pete,
Yeah we don clip wings, I'm a strong advocate for wing clipping. People don't do and they are the first ones to complain that their $1500 bird just flew away.....

well the Psittacula Birds & Macaws are pretty strong flyers, even with clipped wings as they get a lot of leverage from their long tails. I was out front tonight and one of the Amazons took off across the street. Only flew about 2 ft off the ground by boy she flew quick. I've never moved so fast in my life to catch her. Caught her though and tomorrow morning she's getting at leat 2 more feathers off each wing.
You know I can't believe how many people don't clip the birds wings though. I was talking a lady today at Sylvia's Bird Store here - I bought my Bandit off Sylvia. This lady had a 2 year old Grey who flew away. I was so tempted to say something but bit my tongue. I know it's there choice but it's not that hard to think of your birds safety.

They look great Justin!! You always have such healthy and happy looking bubs!! I agree with the wing clipping also. I've come across a lot of people who say it's "cruel and unusual" however they obviously don't understand the wild / pet difference. With my tame guys, they can potter around in the garden with me and play on the grass, etc. If they weren't clipped I couldn't do that. In having said that though - my eckies haven't been clipped for ages and the last time I tried Saffy screamed the house down - and that was from just holding her ... sheesh - she is such a princess!

Sparkles you ought to hear my African grey when I take him to my friends bird store to get him clipped. He hates her already so I figured she can do it. That way he don't associate me with his 'horrible experience'.
If She was to clip his wings in my front yard the neighbors would think I was sacrificing him - he acts all tuff but becomes a really wuss when he know's the wing clips about to go down.
