It's taken a while but here is our first baby. Poor little man still has no name yet but at 3 weeks old he's a big Sheltie! Mother is Rainforest Artic Rose and Father is Campbell "Shaggy"

yep.... I had 4 born to a cream sow, all premmy. 4 born to a gold satin sow....all premmy two days later she died of toxemia and this little guy had an awesome coronet brother. Perfect crest black and white with a tiny bit of gold, was deformed and died 2 days later. Not having any luck am I? I've also lost a pedigree boar a week after I bought him and my other gold satins aren't looking crash.....I think it's a pedigree thing

Hmmmm ... I wonder if its like with dogs and cats - the mixed breed ones are always much hardier as the problems the pedigrees suffer from are halved??
Or could it be a first litter thing like with birds?

It actually has alot to do with the fact that the "pure breeds" are very imbred! They often breed father to daughter, grand daughter etc for many generations. So problems start to arise.
First litters are also a prob for them. especially if they are older
