A fellow who supplies me with my Bourke addiction has this unusual looking baby and asked for help in trying to identify it's mutation. He said the colours seem to change slightly on a weekly basis. The bird on his right in this one is the birds father.

Wow what a pretty one. I might get a bourke as a companion for my elegant hen as I haven't been able to find any elegants for sale. She needs a very gentle friend as she can't fly and I'd hate for her to get attacked and not be able to get away.

Jules if I lived in WA I'd sell you one mine. I've got a Lutino & Normal and both aint doing squat for us here. I've got Rosy's on Eggs & Scarlet Chests on babies & eggs. but the elegants are just stubborn.

I've heard they can be difficult to breed. Those lutinos are stunning.

I saw some lutino elegants at Birdworld, they are pretty nice! Someone I know bred the first pied elegants in the world! Right here in WA

Elegants are one of my favorite grass keets. I love the royal blue on them.

Eagle I chased this up because I was interested in the mutation, the mutation is commonly called cream but technically it is a "bronze fallow" bourke. Fallow always changes the eye pigment to red and reduces the grey pigments to softer colours. So I rekon this bird is definately a bronze fallow bourke! (cream)
