We went collecting cuttlefish to give to a friend in Perth and got about 10 plastic coles bags full, the beach was covered in them as usual. Here's a picture of the remains of a baby sea turtle washed up on one of our rugged coastal beaches down near Albany. Poor little thing. My daughter was facinated as she always is by any animal dead or alive. (She wants to be a Crocodile Hunter like Steve when she grows up) I was wondering if anyone could take a guess at which type it might be. It is the first sea turtle I have ever seen down here as I am pretty sure its a bit too cold for them this far south. Learnt an interesting thing about the "Green sea Turtle" the other day. Apparently they are called green sea turtles because their Fat is a green colour. So someone must have had to cut one up before they named it

WOW That is kool!
Shame the poor little thing was dead! I wouldn't have a clue what type it would be. Matt has a friend that is studying turtles at the moment, so maybe he can ask her what species are down that way.

yep looks like a green to me. They are traditionally eaten in native cultures and it's true that their fat is greenish.
