A raw meat diet isn't good for your dog or cat anyway...a balanced diet that you don't have to add to is the Eukanuba range! has no preservatives either

I saw that story on telly. It's a bit scary to think we've been unknowingly poisoning our animals.

It is very scary! I buy pet mince from a butcher and I cook it with vegies and pasta so hope the butcher doesnt use sulfur dioxide to!! I know alot of butchers (mainly supermarket) use sulfur dioxide on human mince to keep the red colour, wonder what its doing to us?!??!!

I've raw fed my 2 golden retrievers for over 3 years now & have had nothing but great results from it. My 2 dogs have never been healthier. One of my dogs, Molly, has suffered from severe allergies for most of her life & although they're not food related, we have only been able to get them under control since she's been raw fed. I feed my dogs a variety of different foodstuffs including raw chicken necks, lamb necks & shanks, roo tails, sardines, eggs, turkey mince & a variety of juiced fruit & veggies. I'm not disputing the story about sulpher dioxideat all. But I do believe that feeding dogs a commercial, prmarily grain-based product is not beneficial to dogs - they are not designed to eat lots of grains. Many commercial dogfoods also contain all kinds of preservatives & flavourings, many of which have been proved to be harmful to health. I used to feed my dogs a traditional kibble diet but started to investigate other options in my attempts to manage Molly's allergies better. What I've learnt over the last few years has convinced me that, for me, raw is the way to go. I realise it's not for everyone, for one thing it requires more effort than tipping a quantity of kibble into a bowl, but I believe it is worth it & wouldn't go back to feeding a commercial diet again.

I agree with Grevillea, my lab is doing very well on her raw meat and vege diet. I get the minced chicken carcasses(bones and all) from Lenards and they don't add any preservatives to it.
