I know and it was my pied cock too. The dog is actually a little scared as the kitten chases her trying to get her tail and hides under the bed and jumps on her when she walks past. lol

Sorry to hear about your Kak!! Thats great getting a kitten though - especially a rescue one!! You will find it makes a HUGE difference (provided she is a good mouser ... lol)! I have 4 cats and no mice, rats, catapillars, crickets, centipeeds, etc .... its brilliant!!

Very cute! I hope she does a good job mousing out the aviaries and house! Remember to keep her confined at night time to limit the possible deaths of native animals!

She is never to be allowed out doors, she is an inside cat only.

lol ... then I have to ask ... how can she keep the mice outta the aviary from indoors???
I know ppl think its the best way with cats keeping them indoors - but I definately believe its responsible pet ownership that makes the difference.
And I know a lot of you have already heard this ... but ....
I have 3 cats and a kitten - they are indoor / outdoor cats. They have curfew at night time and either sleep inside or on the back verandah. They have been raised around all the animals so are very good with them - to the point where I have my week old chicks running around the yard with their mums and the cats don't even give them a second glance. I have doves, 28s, red caps, etc in the yard daily pinching food and the cats never attempt to jump them.
Now I know I don't know what they do when they leave the yard - however I am very doubtful its doing anything they shouldn't!
And the best bit it NO MICE!
Amazing isn't it - chicks the size of mice yet they wont touch them!! They know better!!
Anyway - definately something to consider!!

We seem to mainly only get mice and rats inside. We may decide to let her outside on strict conditions as when ever the dogs go out to play she cries because she wants to go play with them. I think she already thinks shes a dog.
