Hi well i've got a huge fish tank that took 6 men to move as it's made of real thick glass, and i've got yabbies in it i'm hoping to breed. I'll be doing some research on them to find out about breeding them. i'll post a pic as soon as i take one:)

I bought some live yabbies from sealanes once. They were for xmas lunch & we had too many so I threw some in mum's pond. All died but 1 over the next year & I think the survivor was the only survivor because he ate the others! He was huge!!!

We have them in our pond/dam up the pack~! we went to the perth royal show a few years ago, and came back with yabbies and chook eggs! mum shook her head! i dont no why? ? She said we must be the only kids that go to the show and come back with eggs and yabbies, instead of bags and candy....he he he birdz let us know how you go with them, and if you find out any info, post it on here if u can so we can all breed thenm ;D

My brother had a couple in his fish tank and they bred very easily!! I think the males have one big claw and the females both the same size.. or is that crabs?? Pretty sure its yabbies!! He just had a few logs and broken teracotta pots for them to hide and for the babies to hide in, he ended up with heaps! They do need air so dont forget to put some form of filter in!!

I think that they all have the same size "arms", but sometimes they loose them in a fight, and grow them back, so that is why one is big and one is small, same for crabs, at least that is what i think...........
