This is the male pheasant we purchased today. Lady Amherst Pheasant approx 11 months. He will be a beautiful boy when he colours up. We also bought another female as well but she wouldnt sit for me. lol

They are beautiful birds. Do you have them in a big aviary on their own?

well they are in a cage to settle down first then they will be let out into a run. We have another young pair that we are hopeing will be able to play together. lol .. for now..

They are great! We have golden pheasants here! and also ringneck pheasants! They are great birds

Yes we have had Golden Pheasants too but have found the Lady Amhersts are much harder to come by so decided to keep them.
They are beautiful.

Thats great! Have you ever bred them before? We find they go better in the incubator or under a chook than with the mum pheasant. However, we have had some mums hatch and care for their own.

no this is our first year. so far she is doing good, very attentive to her eggs. We shall see what happens. Her mum incubated her own eggs so lets hope there is some genetic rub off.. lol Ok a question if anyone has done the pheasant breeding. Should the male be removed from the area
