Here are eastern kings! They are lovely birds! Who else keeps them? We feed them small parrot seed; fruit, egg biscuit, sprouts and breeding aid (almost every day during breeding season); and native tree banches and nuts to keep them busy.

I have Kings Peter! But our male alway's attacks the female, every time she goes near him. We have had 2 different females in with him at different times, and he attacks both of them. Is this normal?

HMMMMM
I don't think so, our male and female get on fine, however our red wings dont get along as well. The male bullies the female a bit, and they still breed (the female does all the work)
Maybe you have a stroppy male......

Do you think because the females might be a bit young Peter? He is nearly 2 1/2 years old, and the females are only 16 & 13 months. Should I try puting both the females in there together with him? I really don't know what to do, maybe get another male, or another female

To answer Debs question, I think your right about those hens being too young, males have a habit of chasing hens onto the nest when they are ready to breed, if the hen is too young he can harass her constantly and it is not good. Maybe wait until those hens are about 2 years old and see how you go then. Either that or perhaps introduce the hen within a small cage inside the aviary and allow them to get used to each other like that for a few weeks, then when you let the hen out swap them over and allow her to have the aviary for a week before releasing the male, that way she will feel more comfortable when he is released. If he still chases and attacks her cut some of his primaries to slow him down and allow her to escape alot quicker. Hope this information helps.
To answer Bubbles, the bigger the better! I house my pair in an aviary 3m long, 2m high and 2m wide. I used to have them in the big one thats about 7m long, 3m high and 4m wide, they loved it in there.

Thanks Matt, I'll give it a go and see how they go. I was thinking of getting a 2-3 year old female.
