Say hello to Delilah... the feral, troublesome, fantastic, annoying goat kid. Delilah is one of a kind well ok not really im sure all goat kids are as annoying as her. ;D
About 4 weeks ago delilah reckoned she had rocket boosters in her legs, she attempted to jump a 6 ft fence (and nearly cleared it) and snapped her smelly little leg in half. Not being any where remotley near a vet i called upon my expertise..... : ..... and set her leg.
ok so im not really an expert- you may have gathered that! BUT i have done lots of sheep legs when dad is going to shoot a perfectly good ewe just because her leg is broken.
AND MY GOD she screamed her little head off when i did it, i was expecting it but i had rining in my ears for about 2 hours afterwards. poor girl i felt mean i only sedated her but didnt have pain killers. and nothing to knock her completely out without the risk of killing her- horse drugs are just a bit strong for that
It is pretty well healed but i am going to leave the splint on for another 2 weeks and then just use the bandages as support until she builds her muscles up again.
Having a pollypipe leg in no way seems to affect her, she still thinks she has rocket boosters, still jumps onto the bonnet of the car and walks around denting it - then decides the roofs better because its higher. She still jumps on the back of the ute with the dogs and comes for ute rides. still does her little jumpy thing at the cattle (its a defensive thing but she looks like a retard) she still bleats her head off in the morning - if you leave the doo even slightly open she will break into the house and jump onto alll the furniture.
So here are some pictures of Delilah the terrible- in her very temporary pen (yep we had to move her to the house so just went to the farm tip and pulled out old gates.)- this was about 4 hours after she broke her leg.
Note, in one of the pics you can see her lovely poly pipe leg,
food... what food... i didnt eat all that fresh hay you just gave me... never
Oh woe on me stuck in this terrible pen with my stiff leg. why meeee. (see the poly leg lol)
