every time you feed him or spend time with him grab one wing always the same wing and wave it up and down and at the same time say SHAKE after a while all you have to do is say shake and he will wave him self !!

i find its best to just let him bite you so that he learns he cant hold it over you and will get sick of it, dont forget to reward good behaviour. Even try when hes getting bitey to put him in his cage and walk away so he knows hes naughty

Hey - wow - I didn't realise you had not long had Prince! I have found with my eckies that the best way to deal is a firm NO. Saffy is the one who can bite (Baz is too nice for that). Now when I am playing with them she will just 'nibble' my finger and if she starts getting too hard i say 'gentle' and she knows what that means. I know you aren't supposed to but I have always played with their beaks, feet, wings, etc ever since i have had them and they are now used to me touching them everywhere without distress. Also if they bite and hang on you need to push your hand towards them rather than away - they will lose balance. With my Pink and Grey the best way to get near him was to give him almonds and peanuts daily - it meant my hand was always near his face so when i wanted to scratch him he wasn't freaked out about my hand being near his head. My weero's and ringy are great and don't bite at all except for Whoopi but with him i have had to take the 'tough' stance. He WILL hop on my hand when I want him to and he will hop down when i want to. He seems a bit too stunned to bite and responds very well to firmness. It all depends on the individual bird hey. Perhaps start with the good old method of 'stepping up and down' off a stick and graduate to a hand, etc.

Kieko my lorrie, knows when I say "uh uh", that means to stop biting me. The funny thing is he knows when he is going to bite a bit hard and says "uh uh" himself before he does it!! At least I get some warning,LOL.

Hi there, I had a princess parrot (blue) - most beautiful little girl and she flew to heaven about 5 years ago - I called her chirp because she talked and whistled and talked - she called me mum and my daughter lisa and called the dogs - everything we said she copied. She broke my heart when she died and I took her to an avian vet but it only helped for a while. She used to try and have a go at me and she would hurt - I held my finger in front of her beak and flicked her a couple of times - she stopped - I only had to threaten her and she would not bite - I didn't really hurt her and she didn't like the sound of the flick on her beak. I have a son conure parrot now and he has never talked and I have had him for 5 years - I would get a princess parrot again in a flash.
