You are so lucky to have those growing right around you!!! I have to go bush to hunt out orchids, where we live was all originally cleared years ago for market gardens and is now devoid of almost all native vegetation.

Where I live is pretty much still sand dunes and lots of scrub! I can never seem to find anything decent that the birds will like! There is heaps of some native bush/tree popping up all around the area though - I will get some pics and post. Someone may be able to identify it for me! In having said all that there must be something good around here because there is massive of Pink and Greys in the area - some of which nest in the big tree out the front every year! I love to hear the babies feeding Plus now I get heaps of 28's in my yard feeding on the sunflowers that are popping up everywhere from the bird seed

Where we live is also around the old italian market gardens so most stuff is non existent but we are lucky to be pretty close to natural bush that hasn't been touched YET! until roe goes across it anyway. The neighbourhood pretty much has big old trees in everyones yards so I think that helps to keep the wildlife around. I just LOVE watching the 28's in my yard ;D especially because I know very few people who get them around their yard ;D
