What kind of native plants do you have in your garden? I have a huge lilly pilly tree that is starting to fruit so I'm starting to get heaps of galahs and 28s in my garden, also I have 2 bottlebrushes, an Illawarra flame tree and I've just planted a grevillea so my birds will have lots of blossoms and branches to eat and chew. Except from the flame tree of course which is toxic to birds.

I don't have any trees in my front or back yard. I removed all the bushes in the back yard and I have 3 bushes in the front garden. I don't know what kind of bushes they are but one of then makes pink flowers and the other 2 make small white ones. I would really like to have a garden in my back yard to attract native wildlife. Has anyone seen the show on Animal Planet called Backyard Habitat. I would love to do that to my yard. Backyard HabitatJohn

We have lots of natives at our house! Mainly big gums, red flowering gums etc and shrubs like Grevilleas and bottlebrushes. They atract so many native birds, especially little ones like wrens and honey eaters.
I Have to say, that when I went over seas for a month, THE BEST smell in the world, was the smell of eucalypts at the airport when we got out! You can't beat it! Made me really feel at home again

My fella has loads of natives like eucalyptus, wattle, melaleuca, grevillea, bottlebrush, kangaroo paw and others but he lives across the road from a state forest so there are thousands of native trees shrubs and flowers. I love spring when we go out searching for spider orchids and all the other beautiful wildflowers.

What type of spider orchids do you have around there SC? I think the spider orchids are amazing, cant wait for the next few months when they all start growing again! We have heaps of them off display at the zoo some spider orchids (Caledenia) and donkey orchids (Diuris) etc. Love native orchids.

We've got white spider orchids, butterfly? spider orchids, some other spider types that I can't think of that are green and also yellow and rusty red coloured, cowslip orchids, purple and pink enamel orchids, pink faries, sun orchids, donkey orchids, bird orchids and heaps of others I can't think of atm, and after fire we even get mignionette orchids. For John and those who haven't seen them before here's a pic of a white spider orchid I took right across from our driveway.
