Hehehe I talked it over with my man, and I am allowed to get some more chooks!And I can get about 5! YAY!! I have missed not having any for a while now, so keep a look out!! Which kind make the best layers??

hmmm, ok, I had a guy email me he has some silky x's, aruacana x pekin x, a leghorn x and some other babies as well aparently, so I dont know i might get them. Silkies are cute as are pekins and aruacanas. They are only $5 each so cheap enough

Hi Nat, the best breeds are laying breeds like Isa Browns, Leghorns, Anconas, Minorcas etc. But all breeds will lay well if they recieve a balanced diet. I suggest feeding poultry mix and lots of greens and scraps. Good luck.

Do you know what - I reakon all breeds lay fine! Especially if you have 5 - you only need 3 eggs a day to keep well and truly supplied!! I reakon get what you like - and the eggs will follow .....
