This is Redmond Rooster. He is just adorable. A sweet & polite boy. Very brave too. He fought the neighbour's Jack Russell terrier when it dug under the fence and attacked the chooks. Redmond lost a spur and most of his feathers but he saved most of the chickens. We had to put one down that was badly mauled. One of the hens. They are purchased from a local egg farm so have been de-beaked. I gotta say though that they are so happy now and very friendly too. This one had only been here for about one week when photographed so comb is still not as red as it should be. This hen has been here for a while.

what a brave and beautiful boy! I have four girls that I raised from 5 days old and I love them to bits. I don't know how farms can do that to birds, it seems so very cruel but they are obviously living the high life at your home and with all that green most probably think it's heaven
