They are so CUTE....
just a quick question, i have a male redrump, and i was looking at getting a female for him, but someone told me that i couldnt put them together because they will fight. is this true? thanks lisa

That is totally untrue! sometimes you will get males that will fight each other, but not females. They male may be over excited and harrass her at first, but that about it.

also if pairs are close together they will fight thru the wire. I had two pairs in the same cage and they were great, it was a small aviary and I didn't have the room at the time. Red rumps are also very nasty to other birds in the cage with them that's why I don't even have quails in the bottom anymore, they use to beat them up too.

Hey Tan, Here are some more pics! Almost lost one today..... the lutino can fly! Shane must have scared him when he picked him up cause he took off out of shane's hands, we luckly got him out the front but it reminded me of when we lost a quail, it ended up in the next door neighbours yard and was mauled by their dog. I was shaking like a leaf and holding him so tight! Now they are never leaving the confines of a cage!

Loved living in Singleton NSW and watching the wild ones fly around.... soo pretty. I am so bad right now, I don't think I'll part with either of them. Which will mean two more aviaries and two girls for them too..... pets are so addictive

Im glad he didn't get away and hurt, that would have been so sad. You in QLD (I forgot where everyone is) I'd be happy !! to help you find a new home for them (my 8foot cage is STILL empty)

Yeah I'm in QLD Too far from home. I think I'm keeping them both now..... will have to wait and see if I can find girlfriends for them both. Anyway on thursday they had both fledged as we all read in emergencies. Here are some pics of them in the cage!
