Well I went away for a few days on the weekend, I came home and checked the nest boxes in my budgie avairy and YAY!! Finally a little pink featherless thing!! Hehehe I'm soooo excited, bout time! I have waited for a year or so!!! I just hope the other 2 eggs in there hatch to!!!

I think the baby is about 5 days old, it is just starting to get a few little feathers poking through, so the other eggs prob would have hatched by now?? I dont know??, it's been years since I have bred budgies!!!!!!

Budgie eggs hatch about 1-2 days.

I would leave them for the moment, cant hurt to leave them there, but after another few days i would through them out

I leave the eggs in till the baby(ies) can hold their head(s) up. I found the baby(ies) use the eggs to lean on and hold their head(s) up off the floor.

Budgie eggs will hatch every second day but any leave any unhatched eggs In the nest as it gives the baby something to lean against and also keeps the hen up off the baby and prevents splayed legs
