Unexpected additions

Well once again my attempts to halt the increase of bird purchases until after we move house has failed. There is no doubt that we do not have room for any more birds at the moment but they are so d**n hard to resist.
A very nice lady that we have bought a couple of avairies off in the past, tracked me down at work yesterday and practically begged me to buy her two lovebirds off her as she really didn't want to take them down the petshop and would I please just give her a few bucks and take them off her hands.
My plea that we just didn't have any room was countered by her saying the birdcage came with them and she would really really appreciate if I would buy them.
Keeping in mind that we had previously decided to sell the 2 lovies that we had, and expecting that the cage she was offering would just be your standard el'cheapo budgie cage I offered her $30 sight unseen.
She said "yep thats fine, we won't be home but to just pick them up and leave the money on the patio. told you she was a really nice lady!
So reluctantly I told Rob what I had agreed to and went to get them today. well they are in a really nice cage (the same type cage I had paid $80 for previously) and I think they are a nice little pair of birds.
I noticed a few mites in resident causing loss of feathers on one but have given them and the cage a good spray and scrubbed everything, plus wormed them for good measure.
I still know very little about lovebirds and what their colours are called So here they are..

They are both beautiful Jen... I have grown to like Lovebirds alot myself now... I know... We bird-a-holic's just can't get enough... Right Jen...

I reckon you have a Dulite Blue Mask and a Normal (Green) Peachface... And the cage looks great too... Birdie paradise...

Obviously you know a bit more than me about lovebirds (my knowledge being virtually nothing) but can anyone confirm that the green is a normal peach-face or is it what some websites call an "orange-faced" as it is not pastel at all but bright, bright orange.
Not that I care anyway but curious all the same.

The cage will certainly come in handy but hopefully it won't be long until we can put them in one of the 10 empty avairies we have in storage until we move (yes we are picking up yet another avairy on Sunday!)

I thought of Orange face when I see it but not sure... But if it is as Orange as you say Jen, then I would go with Orangeface (Normal) Peachfaced Lovebird or it is a single factor Orangeface Peachfaced Lovebird... Hard too tell in the picture... But a beautiful bird anyways...

Also my research into the orangeface says it is not well established in Australia, so you got a great buy there girl...

Yeah I think lb is right! The seem to be 2 different specices of lovebird.

Ok, the bird on the left is a dilute blue masked and the bird on the right unfortunately is a hybrid between a peachface and a masked! I would not attempt to breed the hybrid but the dilute seems purebred so thats a good buy on its own as they are not normally cheap anyways!

Its OK that he's a bit of a mongrel breed as I doubt we will bother to pair them up for any extensive breeding program although they will eventually go into a proper avairy with the other two and we will throw in a few more for colour as I think they look great when they are in a colony environment. Hopefully they won't kill each other....(Sorry in advance to any purists who think I should be more genetically responsible lol)
