his home!!! :Dbut b4 he can go into his new cage i needa take him 2 jens for sum wing clipping while he gets used to people again...... the crappy part isnt over yet for poor baz untill after that  But it will be worth it for him with all the attention his gonna get! ;D I also got another budgie, i think its a female, and its absolutly addorible!!! pix soon!  |

lol pix will be up later 2day, there just loading atm, and as for how baz is settling in.........   Well yesterday after i posted on here i went out into the loung and let baz out ontop of his holding cage, and everytime i walked past him i would give him a peanut 2 teach him im not the bad guy... and it was going great, so when my bro came out 2 c how baz was going i asked him 2 do the same, and jake did as i asked, lol biiig mistake! ;D When jake approched baz, baz starting growling, backing up and then jumping forward (threatning him)! and i thort i was saying the rite thing when i told jake 2 ingore him, show him the peanut, and offer it to him, and jake did, baz kept taking the peatnuts and flinging them away hard  So after a couple tries jake gave up......, and as he went 2 walk away baz decided he REALY didnt like jake hahaha! He flew up from the cage, followed after jake, and attacked him! BIG time! ;D It was SOOOOOOO fkn funny!!!I laughed sooooooooooo hard that i was down on the floor coz i couldnt breath! and im still laughing now, one day l8er, while im typing this! I couldnt belive baz had attacked him coz weve never had a bird with "issues" b4, so wasnt expecting it" And then straight after baz flew at me !!! and i kinda freaked coz i thort he was attacking me now, but instead he sat on my shoulder with his cheek pressed up against mine  so i told jake, get the cam so i can proof his not ferral  ! (i got the pix loading) and everytime jake came close baz would back up against me, and start a realy low growl! Then when jake backed off agian, baz woud turn around and start ""kissing"" my cheek  But this went on for 5mins and baz didnt do anything els so we paid no attention to him  , BUT, when jake went 2 pass me the camera that was a diff story! ;D baz attacked jake 4 the 2nd time! then flew back and landed on me again! Now my bro REALY hates birds with a passion  So i thort enoughs enough, put baz back in the cage! L8er yesterday i took him 2 jens for sum seriouse wing clipping! jen said it would help stop baz from attacking jake so bad. and i agreed, but now he keeps going off at me aswell! lol Whenever i go near his cage now he dont realy want anything 2 do with me, and wen i offer him food he flings it! So its gonna b aLONG time b4 his "tame" again, but im still gonna work on him ;D |

ROFPMLOL poor Jake LMAO  . I wonder if it's just Jake or guys in general he doesn't like. I'm sure Baz'll get over the wing clip and love you again. He sounds like a real character and I know he'll do really good being with you. |

thats a good way of putting it lol, i just spent the last hr outside with him, and he was using his toys and food to threaton me! hahaha! he would walk ova 2 his seed, give me a nice evil stare! then go phyco at his seed bowl thrashing seed round, flinning it, ect. and if i didnt pay any attention then he would cum do the same 2 his fruit (it was next 2 my face the fruit bowl), and if i still didnt do anything, he would grab his toys and bling them 2wards me, hitting the bars, and if i STILL ingored him, he would take it out on the bars near my face, then start again hahaha! But once he settled abit, i let him outta the cage, and once he realised i had peanuts again he calmed down, now i dunno how 2 get him back in there co he dont wonna cum near me except 2 get food Anyways! enough chatting! PIX TIME!!!     These are all from when i 1st let him outta the cage   You cant c these very well coz there so blured, but that top shot was about 2seconds b4 he attacked jake the 1st time! hahaha! ;D  This was when he 1st landed on my shoulder and i didnt know what the hell was going on   And excuse the fact i have NOOOOOOOOOO makeup on! my skins horrible! but i just got outta the shower and wasnt expecting a photo I will try and get nicer ones l8er And the budgies!.............  The one in the middle, the only one not blured, is my new female    The little male has lost almost all interest in the albino female, and is already feeding this new little girl |

Great pics. Baz is GORGEOUS and so are the budgies.
Maybe you dhould put some peanuts in Baz's cage, he might go in for them.

Holly, congratulations on getting him home! I have seen that look on a sun conure before and I see it nearly every day....when I inspect the nest box, they can be quite aggressive at times. I think he bonded to you quite fast at the pet shop and when you brought him home and he probably took Jake as a threat. Either that or he is a man hater. I think he was probably taken back by the fact that you took him to Jens and he had his wing clipped there, he will probably settle down with time now. A tip, dont use peanuts excessively, only when he deserves a reward, that way he will not get bored with them and you can reward him for good behaviour patterns and withhold for bad ones. Hope it all goes well and he is looking great.

what a cutie. There was a sun conure at the pet shop near me that was a man hater lol He used to come and sit on me and preen me and attack the shop assistants when they took him off. |

All birds love some one new Bubbles... there is a Derbyan parrot at work that does that but at least he feign's attacks!
I'd say thats why Baz's previous owners got rid of him..... he bonds to women. With time he'll settle but definately ignore those panty tanties! He must be a real show pony when he shows off!

yeah his definatly a man hater! i brought the guy who washes elle out the back 2day 2 meet baz, coz iv been raving about wanting him since i 1st saw him. and baz went PHYCO!!!!! he was screaming his little head off as loud as he could, dancing from side 2 side with his feathers fluffed up! and realy going off! he even had a go at me when i was patting him, but was still looking @ the guy when he did! But the 2nd the guy walked outta the alfresco, baz shut up. he was smootchy with me, letting me pat him, and making those little affectionite bird noises! My bro was telling me he spent most the day in the alfresco with baz, eery now and then trying 2 give baz a peanut 2 get baz used 2 him, and he said baz would take the peanut, fling it, then spin round and bite him, and other times he would go 2 take the peanut, but instead grab jake poor jakes trying realy hard with this bird, i think jake has a soft spot for sun conures because sunnys the only bird he ever liked and spent time with, and now baz is making jake hate all birds again But jakes still keen 2 get baz 2 like him so now i needa try and learn how 2 get a bird over hating men!  Anyways baz is sitting on my shoulder atm, when i opend the cage after work he flew straight onto me, and he keeps rubbing his head and beak on my cheek, so i think his getting ova the whole "i hate you for getting my wings clipped" thing lol But his also destroying my work uniform and im 2 scared 2 put my hand up 2 stop him oh well! ;D |

It sounds like a man did something bad to him in the past, this isn't your average man dislike. Dougal doesn't like Shane but he doesn't out right attack him when out of the cage!!! Poor Jake needs his own feathered friend  |

Yes I agree that maybe Jake needs his own bird to get attached to. Another thing I should add is when I clipped his wings I held him in a soft towell (cause his beak is huge ) but he didnt seem overly stressed about the event and we only clipped enough to slow him down a bit so he can still fly a little. I wonder now if we should have clipped more. well we'll see how he goes. Anyway it is bound to take time for him to settle down after being locked up in a small cage at the petshop for so long. who knows how many people have pocked and prodded and bashed on the cage. He's probably still shell-shocked. Time and Patience will be the key here I think but Holly has plenty of those so it will be interesting to see how it goes. Also be interesting to put him near one of your weeros Holly and see how he relates to other birds before you find him a mate. I don't know anything about conures though so perhaps someone else could give their thoughts on doing this. Jen |
