Long time no chat How are ya? It's a lot to type out, and there are many different types of enclosures. The Antaresia species are a great start, spotted's and children's are the best hardy little snakes, stimmies are more specialist and not really for the beginner. Not growing too big too quickly. It all depends on your $$ limit and where in the house the little tike will live. Don't have the enclosure in a loud, busy area. If there is a room in the house that is quiet and warmish (not an icebox at the end of the house kinda thing) Like the computer room you can get away with a fish tank and wooden lid with mesh screening. If you get a hatchie, go with a click clack.... a plastic container you can drill some vent holes in or one of those little small world plastic containers that you can use for mice/fish etc. these are great cause the hatchies freak out with too much room. Wooden enclosures are great cause they retain the heat from the heating and are easier to keep warm, watch for ones that aren't sealed wood tho cause bacteria will grow in them and the moisture from wee will be absorbed. if you go the whiz bang glass reptile enclosures you can get from pet stores with the glass sliding lids please PLEASE block up all the holes and the gap in the door with a piece of silicone air hose!!! believe me it will save so much heartache. Hatchies will eat at least once a week but it all depends on the individual snake. When you get a snake, regardless of who from definately get a feed and shed history from them. If they won't give it DON'T BUY IT!!!! if you want go to this forum, www.aussiepythons.comGreat website... I'm there too. If not you can ask me heaps of Q's and I'll even dig out some books and give you the ISBN No's for them. But whatever questions you have I can answer or you can spend months and months (it's a HUGE site!) going thru aussie pythons and snakes Hope I helped a little Manda
