Sorry but I'm going to get on my high horse here ... because this is something I'm quite passionate about (just ask Peter).
There is SO many unwanted dogs (and cats) around WA in pounds and rescue centres and I honestly believe that anyone who isn't a registered breeder who breeds their dogs is being irresponsible.
Believe me ... I know its so cute to go through the process and see the little pups come out and grow up. And there is also the money factor I guess. But what happens when those puppies grow up and become adults. How do you know they won't end up in pounds because their owners don't want them anymore. If you are saying to yourself that it won't be your problem then you shouldn't own a dog in the first place.
How about just taking a trip to a few local pounds before deciding to mate your dog .. then decide.
I'm not going to apologise for my opinion. For the most part I believe everyone is entitled to their own opinions and can normally see both sides of arguement .. but I can't when it comes to dog and cat breeding! I just keep seeing the faces of the poor buggers that get put down every day because no one wants them anymore.

i agree with sparkles on this one, i beleive it should become law that if you want a dog it has to be desexed and you should be only be able to buy from a breeder- not pet shops- i dont thinkpet shops should be allowed to sell any animal at all anyway. You should really get your dog desexed and your mate should too because irresponsible breding can cause dog with defects- and can cause dog that arent exactly good looking and it will lead to them being put down since no one wants it, as sparkles said take a look at the RSPCA's and the punds around you before you think of breeding your dog- it may just change your mind

Right I'm gunna keep this not so short and not so sweet, there is no nice way to put what I want to say. First I am going to assume that the biitch and your dog are both pure pomeranians because if their not then your an idiot to start with. Secondly You shouldnt even consider it unless you have at least three or four people who are offering homes to any pups born. You sound like you are only doing it for the money and trust me "goings halves" in any pups might sound great but you will more than likely find that the half you get is half the bills not half of a profit. I used to breed show quality Dogs and I dont think I made hardly anything out of that after paying for all the vet bills, stud fees, worming, vaccinations, registration and a high quality diet required by pregnant biitch and pups. The last litter of 11 pups would not have made me hardly any money and I sold them for $800 each. And yes I had homes for 8 of them before the biitch was even mated. The biitch should be first taken to the vet and given a check up before being mated. You don't breed for money, you breed for a purpose. What valid reason can you give in this case. You obviously know very little about dogs if you can't even tell if the male is whole or not. I hope you friend knows a little more but then if they did you wouldnt be asking us in the first place would you. How old are you anyway? Visit the dog pound for starters, better yet book yourself in for a night and have a good think about what you are doing.

OK maybe you're smarter than I thought. I applaud your desision. I can only speak for myself on this matter and say that I feel very strongly about this topic as you may have guessed by my reply and I make no excuses for that.
