Thanks everyone. Yeah, we were both a bit upset when He died. I always wonder if there something we could have done to stop it, but we thought both were going very well.
We have named the female darling, as she calls out "hello darling"

Oh poor hello darling!! I'm sure she'll start to become happier once she settles in. That's awesome you got them for nothing & REALLY good of the previous owner to give them up for a better home! I love it when Eddie gets stuck into his gum branches & leaves, he smells SO nice Poor poor male ekkie it can be anything at all when it comes to these guys getting sick & dying He could've already had something wrong with him & the stress of the move just did it. Hmm, so when (if) they're settled, happy & in a good state to breed you will breed them? That'd be good, I might want one another, one day........ LOL

Well we have 3 pairs of eckies now, One mature breeding pair we are hoping to breed, one young hand raised pair that are only a year old and the pluckees!
The hen has so many more feathers now, still all a little chewed, but so many have come through! Doesnt look anything like she used to! Will have to take pictures
