as most of you know we brought on of eagles pairs of ringnecks, well i went out to have a talk to them today, both of them are moulting and i noticed the hen is developing a ring. has anyone ever had this happen before?

that pair came from WA origanily and the gut assured me they were a breeding pair !!!!!!!!!!!!!! Im Sorry if there not Ill chat to my mate at blacktown tomorow for yo if you wont and you should be able to go out there and swap it for a hen !!! Or you could sell it if it is a cock as they are worth more than hens !!!!!!!!!

At what age do the males normall get the ring?? My brother has one that is over 1 year old now and it hasnt got a ring.

they normally get there ring around 18 months to 2 years of age

Ok TY for that Eagle. I think my brother is refusing to admit he has a girl!! I have had Kieko my lorrie for over 1 year now and he has had his ringneck for longer but says it is yonger than it is! lol. He is still waiting for the ring, He said about 3 years of age they get it?!

I had a green irn hen that got his ring at almost 4 years old, we were told that it was a hen and it acted like a hen too, But when it turn almost 4 years old it was definatly a cock bird. Sorry to hear this has happened.

Its just one of those annoyances that happens, we ended up giving away one of the birds in exchange for an aviary and selling the other.

Im so sorry again bubbles i had no idea !!! I just found out last weekend that i have to get all of my Green Cheeks & Scailes sexed as the guy i got them off is known for ripping people off buy selling two unsexed birds as breeding pairs so now i have to get 13 birds sexed before breeding season
