Hey LB- Sun Conures are especially noisey birds. (i've always wanted one too) but we have had a few friends who owned some and they make a LOT of noise. HR Sunnies go for about 450-500 here $550 in the pet store. There are very affectionate birds though. Red Rumps may be the way to go if your just looking at buyingfor breeding purposes, but sunnies tend to be pretty popular (as Eagle said on petlink). And i've pretty much helped zip so am going to be quiet now. Hehehe

Well.... I didn't have king quails I have Jap quails and I had problems not just with redrumps but with Budgies too. The budgies use to sit on them and rip their heads open and one even tried to mate her several times! That's why I won't put quails with my birds anymore. I'm too attached to my Quails. That's why I don't have any king quails... I feel like I'd have to build a cage just for them!
